〈소망,담다〉는 강아영의 회화 작업에서 반복되어 온 돌과 돌탑의 이미지와 이철영이 이어온 도자 잔 작업이 결합된 협업 프로젝트이다. 강아영에게 돌과 돌탑은 수많은 경험이 쌓여 형성된 개인의 고유한 개성과, 타자와 부딪히고 섞이는 관계의 장을 상징하는 이미지이며, 이 이미지는 이번 작업에서 이철영의 수천 점의 작은 도자 잔과 오브제로 옮겨진다. 각각 다른 형태를 지닌 잔들은 개별적인 기억과 흔적을 상징하며, 하나의 탑과 군집을 이루어 공동의 풍경을 형성한다. 작품은 잔을 쌓고 재배치하는 과정을 통해, 개인의 기억이 타인의 참여를 거쳐 어떤 풍경으로 확장되고 공유되는지를 시각적으로 드러낸다.
𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘴 is a collaborative project that brings together the image of stones and stone cairns, a recurring motif in Kang Ahyoung's painting practice, and the ceramic cup works that Lee Chuly has long pursued. For Kang, stones and stone cairns are images that symbolize the singular individuality formed through the accumulation of countless experiences, as well as the field of relations where one encounters and mingles with others.
This imagery is translated into Lee Chuly's thousands of small ceramic cups and objects. Each cup, distinct in form, symbolizes individual memories and traces, while together they gather into towers and clusters that form a shared landscape. Through the process of stacking and rearranging the cups, the piece visually reveals how personal memories expand and become shared through the participation of others, unfolding into a collective landscape.
