WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 concludes with historic wins, cultural showcase, and fun party!

The 48th WorldSkills Competition officially concluded in Shanghai, capping off days of intense global competition with a dynamic closing ceremony and a high-energy farewell party. Team China achieved its best-ever result, securing 41 gold, 11 silver, and 4 bronze medals to top both the gold medal tally and total team score for the fifth consecutive time. In a standout moment, Chinese competitor He Xiaoman claimed the prestigious Albert Vidal Award for highest overall score after her dominant performance in Railway Vehicle Technology.

Following the awards presentation, the celebration spilled onto Bocheng Road as delegations from 68 countries and regions embraced the festive spirit. From South African medalists singing in celebration to Romanian competitors exploring local cuisine, contestants unwound with traditional dim sum, sugar painting, dragon dances, and live DJ sets. The event highlighted not only world-class technical skill, but also lasting international friendships forged in Shanghai.
