GB Artist Focus 2026 #1 | Artspace House

Artspace House is a Gwangju-based gallery that has continued to introduce artists and works across generations.

Since opening in 2017, Artspace House has discovered and supported artists whose practices are rooted in the region, exploring the possibilities of expanding regional art. This video shares the story of the gallery.

Director Moon Hee-young looks back on the journey of the space — from the house where she grew up being reborn as a place where art breathes, to nearly a decade of establishing itself as a gallery that connects artists rooted in the region with wider audiences.

GB Artist Focus is a research program by the Gwangju Biennale that invites audiences to explore the practices of artists based in the Jeonnam-Gwangju region.
