“그런 것처럼 예술가들의 역할 중의 하나가 어쩌면 무당의 역할보다는 그 시대의 기록을 하는 기록자의 역할이 크지 않을까라고 했고, 그런 것들을 기록하는 작업들로서 관찰자. 관찰자로서 나를 바라보는 또 다른 나인 거죠.” - 신호윤

신호윤은 종이를 구조화하여 입체 조형물을 만들어내는 작업을 통해, 현실과 비현실, 허(虛)와 실(實)의 경계를 탐구합니다. 치밀한 층위로 결속된 종이는 단단한 구조로 구축되며, 이는 재료의 속성과 조형 언어의 관계를 새롭게 사유하게 합니다. 연약한 종이를 치밀한 층위로 결속해 강인한 구조로 구축하는 그의 작업은 감각과 사유가 맞닿는 조형적 실험을 통해 드러납니다. 신호윤은 우리가 익숙한 것을 어떻게 인식하고, 구성하며, 의문을 제기하는지에 대한 시각적 탐구를 지속합니다.

Shin Ho-yoon explores the boundaries between reality and illusion, the tangible and the intangible, through his sculptural practice of structuring paper into three-dimensional forms. Layering and binding fragile sheets of paper into a solid structure, he reconsiders the relationship between material properties and sculptural language. His works reveal a sculptural experiment where perception and thought converge, transforming a delicate material into a medium of contemplation. Through this process, Shin continues his visual inquiry into how we perceive, construct, and question the familiar.
