Was THIS Better Than OBJ's Catch? 😳🏈

Is Justin Jefferson’s 4th and 18 catch the GREATEST catch in NFL history? When asked about the greatest play he’s ever been a part of, the Minnesota Vikings superstar went straight back to November 13, 2022, against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. With about two minutes left and Minnesota trailing 27-23, Kirk Cousins told Jefferson there wasn’t much they could call and that he might just have to throw it up and hope JJ came down with it. That’s exactly what happened. On 4th and 18, Cousins launched the ball down the right sideline, and Jefferson climbed the ladder over Bills defensive back Cam Lewis, who already had two hands on the ball, and ripped it away with ONE HAND for a 32-yard gain while falling to the ground. If he doesn’t make that catch, the game is over. Instead, the Vikings stayed alive and went on to beat Josh Allen and the Bills 33-30 in overtime, with Jefferson finishing with 10 catches for a career-high 193 yards and a touchdown in one of the craziest games in NFL history. Ever since, fans and analysts have argued over whether JJ’s grab or Odell Beckham Jr.’s legendary one-handed touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in 2014 is the greatest catch of all time. Pat McAfee brought up the debate, and Shannon Sharpe gave his verdict to Skip Bayless on Undisputed: OBJ’s catch was phenomenal, but it wasn’t 4th and 18 in the fourth quarter in a do-or-die situation! Jefferson’s catch went on to win the ESPY for Best Play, was named the Next Gen Stats Moment of the Year at NFL Honors, and his gloves and arm sleeve were sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Now in the 2026 NFL season, Jefferson is still making highlight-reel grabs for the Vikings, including his jaw-dropping touchdown catch against the Detroit Lions in Week 8. But when you factor in the stakes, the pressure, and the defender with two hands on the ball, does Justin Jefferson’s 4th and 18 catch beat OBJ’s catch as the greatest in NFL history?
