We lost the illusion.

This work begins with a clown—
bright, familiar, and easily consumed.
A face that continuously smiles,
constantly provoking response.

This clown is not merely a character.
It is a cultural structure—
an image shaped through repetition and consumption.

It reflects a sensibility built upon
excessive optimism, stimulation,
and an endless logic of the market.
A world where value collapses into reaction,
and balance is replaced by effect.

Within this structure, the clown moves toward extremes.
Laughter becomes a function rather than a feeling,
and expression becomes a device to sustain attention.

Yet the image gradually collapses.
Forms bleed, emotions distort,
and the surface can no longer sustain itself.

Fire, materials, and discarded objects
accumulate upon it, forming a structure.
What remains is no longer an individual face,
but a convergence of residue and function.

At this point, a question emerges:
Is this still a face,
or a structure we have learned to recognize as one?

A bright, repetitive rhythm recalls
the sensibility of an era,
while the rupture that follows reveals
its imbalance.

Rather than exposing a truth,
this work asks what we have believed to be true.

And that question leads to a point:

The mask did not fall.
We simply began to see it as a mask.
