Korea to select lunar landing sites this year for 2032 missions

한국 달 착륙지 연내 선정 2032년 탐사선 2기 보낸다

Korea plans to finalize its lunar landing sites by the end of this year, ahead of two planned missions to the Moon in 2032.
The Korea AeroSpace Administration released an analysis of 29 potential landing sites during a conference on Friday.
Nine sites are being considered for the test landing planned for the first half of 2032, where the institution will test soft-landing technology and observe the lunar environment.
An additional 20 sites are being evaluated for a second landing, set to launch later that year to explore lunar resources.
Officials say the final locations will be chosen based on scientific value, landing safety, and mission feasibility.
