This week on Gyeol-i-goun-ga, we’re sharing another ordinary week of life in the countryside.

As usual, we spent our days gardening, working, taking walks with Yeoreumi, and cooking and eating homemade meals together.

We also harvested peanuts from our garden for the first time!
We were curious to see what was hiding underground, but the peanuts turned out to be much smaller than we expected. Still, they were surprisingly cute.

But the biggest experiment of the month was our September food budget challenge.

For an entire month, our family of three tried to cut down on food expenses by making the most of what we already had at home, reducing grocery shopping, and eating out less.

And when we finally added everything up, we had saved more than we expected.

So… was our one-month food-saving experiment actually a success?

Here’s a little glimpse into our everyday life in the countryside, where gardening, homemade meals, family time, and saving money all happen together.
