충주호에 갈 때마다 늘 배스가 있을까 궁금했던 괴산의 작은 저수지를 드디어 구석구석 탐색해 보고 왔습니다.

첫 입질로 스켈레톤테일 표층 공략에 4짜 중반 배스가 바로 나와주어 기대했지만, 정작 수온과 배스 체온이 너무 높아 연안의 짜치조차 보기 힘든 예민한 상황이었습니다.

수몰나무 군락을 지나 최상류 바닥 돌바닥 지대를 프리리그 장타로 꼼꼼하게 읽어 나가며 4짜 중반급 배스를 추가로 만나고 올 수 있었습니다. 개체수는 적지만 포기하지 않고 패턴을 찾아가는 즐거움을 느낀 하루였습니다.

I finally explored a reservoir in Goesan that I had always been curious about whenever visiting Lake Chungju.

Right at the start, I landed a mid-40cm bass targeting the topwater with the Skeleton Tail. However, due to extremely high water temperatures, the bass were lethargic and the bites were very subtle. Even around standing timber and cover, it was tough to spot even small bass along the bank.

Moving to the upper section, I made long casts with a Free Rig (SY Craw Floating) to carefully feel out the rocky bottom, which eventually led to another solid mid-40cm bass. Despite the tough conditions, it was a rewarding trip as I was able to figure out the right pattern.
