Why Is Pure Water Coming Out Of This Engine?!

Why is crystal-clear water pouring out of this car's engine oil pan?! 🚗🌊
When a vehicle drives through deep standing water or gets caught in a flash flood, water can enter the engine through the air intake or crankcase breather hoses. Because water has a higher density than motor oil, the two fluids cannot mix while stationary. Instead, the water sinks directly to the lowest point of the engine: the bottom of the oil pan around the drain plug!
In this video, a technician removes the drain bolt to empty the engine. Gallons of completely clear water shoot out first before the black, sludgy motor oil finally drains out behind it. If an owner attempts to start an engine in this state, the water cannot be compressed by the pistons, leading to catastrophic "hydro-lock" that bends connecting rods and cracks the engine block!
