Discover the secret hidden inside a 'Moktak', the traditional wooden fish that Buddhist monks use in Korea. In this Korean moktak master's workshop, a rough block of apricot wood slowly becomes an instrument that brings peace to the mind. The wood is steamed for 3 days, shaped on a lathe, and hollowed out to create the resonator the hidden chamber that gives the moktak its clear sound. After a lotus-hand pattern is engraved, the wooden bell is finished with natural ottchil lacquer and dried for a full month.
