When Bryan Cranston Wore 60,000 Bees

Bryan Cranston pulled off one of television’s wildest behind-the-scenes stunts during Malcolm in the Middle when he wore a suit of roughly 60,000 live bees to play Hal.

When the show's writers asked if he would be willing to put on a real suit of live bees for a subplot where Hal gets obsessed with a swarm, Cranston instantly agreed without hesitation. A professional bee wrangler sprayed queen bee pheromones all over Cranston’s body to attract the entire colony, requiring him to stay completely still, breathe slowly, and remain perfectly calm while thousands of insects crawled across his skin. Despite taking precautions, one stray bee managed to crawl down his pants and sting him
