We have all dealt with the absolute frustration of breaking one tiny piece of plastic and having to throw away a totally fine, expensive part! When brittle plastic snaps, standard superglue is almost never strong enough to hold it back together under pressure.
To permanently solve this, professionals use a brilliant fabrication trick called plastic welding! In this video, they place a temporary metal plate behind the broken hole and use a torch to melt a thick puddle of fresh black plastic right over the damage! Once the new plastic hardens, they use an angle grinder and a razor to shave the surface perfectly flat. Finally, they drill a brand new hole right through the center, completely rebuilding the broken mount from scratch so it functions like brand new!
