Tony Stark’s Mark 42 Suit Test Was Pure Chaos 😭 | Iron Man 3

Tony Stark testing the Mark 42 in Iron Man 3 (2013) is exactly why I could watch an entire movie of him working in his garage. The armor starts flying toward him piece by piece, he gets a little too confident, and suddenly the workshop becomes a terrible place to stand. 😭

Robert Downey Jr. makes Tony’s excitement so fun to watch. You can see him enjoying his own invention as the pieces attach, right up until the test stops going smoothly. Every successful part makes him more confident that he has everything under control.

The individual armor pieces make this suit sequence so satisfying. You get to follow how it comes together while waiting to see which part is going to cause a problem next. Tony treating all that flying metal like a normal afternoon project makes it even better.

These workshop scenes always bring me back. Half the entertainment is watching the invention work, and the other half is watching Tony deal with it when it doesn’t.
