👀 POV: You just found out the feedback I send my students every week — and realized you've been pronouncing 합니다 wrong since day 1.

This is an actual clip from a 1:1 video feedback I sent to a Beyond the Script student.
And no, this isn't a beginner mistake — even my intermediate students didn't know this rule until I pointed it out. 🫢

Here's the thing: in Korean, when a syllable ends in ㅂ (받침) and the next syllable starts with ㄴ or ㅁ, that ㅂ sound doesn't stay as ㅂ. It actually turns into ㅁ.

That means the very first verbs you learned are probably being pronounced a little off:

합니다 → [함니다]
감사합니다 → [감사함니다]
갑니다 → [감니다]
죄송합니다 → [죄송함니다]
밥 먹었어요? → [밤 머거써요]

You've been saying these words since your very first Korean lesson. 🥲

But if you've been pronouncing that ㅂ as a hard "b" sound, that's often the exact reason your Korean sounds a little stiff, even when your grammar is perfect.

✨ The good news? You only need to remember one rule.
📌 When ㅂ 받침 meets ㄴ or ㅁ, the ㅂ turns into ㅁ. 🔗
