China's Defense Minister calls for global security co-op, says military ready to work with others

Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun said China's military is willing to work with other countries to build trust in security, coordinate on common safety and protect global security together. Speaking at the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on Wednesday, Dong warned that international security is at a fragile turning point.

He also called for countries to prevent risks through a clear understanding of history and jointly implement the Global Security Initiative, promoted peace talks over wars.

This year marks the forum's 20th anniversary, gathering roughly 2,000 international guests to discuss global stability.
