이번 주는 처서가 지났는데도 여전히 덥고 습한 날씨가 이어져, 마음처럼 정원일을 하지 못한 한 주였습니다.

그런데 이상하게도 정원은 올해 여름이 가장 예쁜 것 같아요.
마음껏 손질하지 못해도 곳곳에서 피어나는 꽃들을 보고 있으면 괜히 흐뭇해집니다.
물론 정원에 꽃만 피어난 것은 아니고요.

마당 한쪽에는 비 때문인지, 쥐 때문인지 정체를 알 수 없는
작은 싱크홀까지 생겼습니다.
하지만 너무 더우니까… 일단 못 본 척, 흐린눈으로 지나가는 중입니다. 😑

독일소녀와는 아쉬운 이별을 했지만, 내년에 또 만나기로 약속!

그리고 요즘 가장 잘한 일 중 하나는 디지털 디톡스.

SNS를 덜 들여다보니 생각보다 시간이 많이 남았고, 그 시간 덕분에 그동안 하고 싶었던 일들을 하나씩 제대로 즐길 수 있게 되었습니다.

시간이 없었던 게 아니라
어쩌면 시간을 너무 많은 곳에 흘려보내고 있었던 걸지도 모르겠어요.
이렇게 생긴 소중한 시간을 앞으로도 잘 지켜나갈 수 있기를 바라며,
이번 주도 꽃과 사람과 조금은 엉뚱한 싱크홀이 함께한 우리의 일상을 담아보았습니다. 🌿

Even though Chuseok is just around the corner, the weather is still hot and humid here in Yangpyeong, so I haven’t been able to spend as much time gardening as I’d like.

And yet, somehow, the garden feels more beautiful than ever this summer.

Even without all the care and attention I wish I could give it, seeing flowers blooming here and there makes me quietly happy every time I look around the garden.

Of course, flowers aren’t the only things growing in the garden.

A small sinkhole suddenly appeared in one corner of the yard. Was it the rain? Was it mice? We still have no idea.

But since it’s simply too hot to deal with it right now… I’m choosing to look the other way for the time being. 😑

We also had to say goodbye to our German girl after a month together. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but we promised to meet again next year!

And one of the best things I’ve done lately is taking a digital detox.

After spending less time scrolling through social media, I realized I actually had much more time for myself. I’ve been able to enjoy the things I’d been wanting to do, one by one, without feeling rushed.

Maybe I didn’t really lack time.
Maybe I was simply letting too much of it slip away in too many places.

I hope I can hold on to this precious time and keep making room for the things that truly matter to me.

This week, our everyday life is filled with flowers, goodbyes, a slightly mysterious sinkhole, and a little more time for ourselves. 🌿
