Hi, Minjions!
Today I’m introducing some unusual Korean jobs that might genuinely surprise you.
What do I mean by that?
Would you believe there are teachers in Korea who make more money than BTS?
What about someone whose job is to scrub your body?
Or a stranger who drives your car home late at night?
What about people who dive into the ocean with no oxygen tank?
And most of all… what if there are people who can tell the future?
In this episode, we’ll talk about five real jobs that show Korean culture in a very interesting way:
Star private academy instructors, Korean bathhouse scrubbers, designated drivers, haenyeo divers, and Korean shamans.
What these people do is fascinating on its own, but as you follow the story, you’ll also naturally learn about Korea’s education culture, bathhouse culture, drinking and company dinner culture, Jeju culture, and shamanism.
Which job surprised you the most?
And does your country have any unusual jobs that people from other countries might find surprising? Let me know in the comments!
